Team-based learning (TBL), a structured form of small-group learning, plays an important role in improving learning efficiency and student engagement and has been applied extensively in health sciences education. In the College of Pharmacy, University of Minnesota, TBL was used in large classes before the pandemic. As the pandemic began and teaching was moved online, the previously face-to-face in-class TBL activities were conducted fully online via Zoom as well, and then it went hybrid or in-person in the past year when conditions allowed. Our presentation will introduce what TBL is and guidance of its implementation, how it was conducted in three formats in our college: face-to-face, hybrid, and fully online, and focus on the evaluation of the use of the three TBL formats in our college during the pandemic.
